‘Cause I like’

Written by Emer Molloy, Hannah Cosgrove, Izzy Walsh, Sarah Lalor, Zoe O’ Donnell & Sophie Boylan

In the morning lying in bed
Get up you lazy (sh) my mam said
Cause I like sleeping, napping, taking a rest pillow duvet there the best
Netflix shows, food & tea
That’s what makes me so happy

In the afternoon it’s time to get up
Text me minions – say hey what’s up?

Cause we like movies, nandos, maccy D’s
Eddie rockets for a party
Pizza, rice and a cup of tea
That’s what makes me so happy

In the evening hitting the town
Seeing who’s up and what’s going down
Cause I like tan, make up, dancing around
Seeing the red cups flat on the ground
High shoes, skinny jeans,limousines
That’s what makes me so happy

This is a brilliant example of a class anthem. Everyone worked together and created this gem of a song. You can find out more on the podcast – have a listen here.

In the morning I was golden

Didn’t have a care in the world

My whole life was before me

Now I’m out in the cold.

Midday was iron

Holds me tight

I’m lost in this moment

But it feels so right.

Shards of glass that

shine like diamonds

cutting through the night.

Here we go again through the

Ups and downs

Why can’t we see

What we have now

in this fogged up reality

WE call our life

Blinded by the fire that’s in our eyes

Life goes on but the world

keeps turning

All you have to do is live

and keep on learning

The fire is in our eyes and its still burning

Just play the game

But play it your way.

Night fall is coming

The sun is starting to fade

sun set is upon us

and its almost too late.

Singing along to mash up tapes.

Disco Christmas almost here.

Dj waves his hands,

People understand,

Now its time to celebrate,

To hang out with your mates.

School Life

Written by Chloe Callan ,Aideen Dunne, Conor Loughran , Liam kiernan, Katie McGee, Scott Litchfield, Cianagh Lindsay

Woke up Monday morning

Thinking about the school day ahead

On my way to the bus stop

With a warm beanie hat on my head

Arrive into school to meet my friends

Thinking when the school day will end

The bell rings for the first class

Hope this day will go very fast

CHORUS:

Boom boom boom let me hear you say no school (no school)

Boom boom boom let me hear you say no school (no school)

It’s lunch time we all want our food

Having group chats with out friends

Really don’t want to go to class

Hoping our lunch won’t go too fast

Friday comes can’t wait for the weekend

We can be together with our friends

It’s good craic planning with our bestfriends

Don’t want the weekend to end.

Open Up The Doors

Written by Philip Du Moulin, Kieran Tyrell, Cian Smith, Sophie McGlue, Kim O’Brien, Rytis Dudonis and Stephen Lynch

Sitting in the sunshine

Between the blades of grass

You kinda get that feeling

that no one ever has

Wasting away the time

Like you had none at all

When youre with that kinda person

Into love is where you fall

(chorus)

Cos life like this wont last forever

Cos love like this cant get any better

Take all my time cos Im all yours

Give me all your love babe open up the doors

And I remember sitting

with that view of you

you kissed me on the forehead

and I fell in love with you

you took my hand

and I took yours

this feeling is something I

never felt before

chorus

and we’ll take our time X4

SELF-DESTRUCTING WORLD

By Calem, Sam, Kevin, Robert, James, Peter, Sean, Noel

Colaiste na hInse (Laytown)

How long must we wait?

For a change in the fate,

Of the people of the world which we live,

People are dying,

Politicians are lying,

We take so much but we’ve so much to give

How long must we go,

‘Till the water will flow,

Through a river of hate and lies,

Now I’m losing my mind,

Searching for answers,

But there’s nothing to find,

In a dead man’s eyes

Ooh, in a dead man’s eyes

Ooh, in a dead man’s eyes

A self-destructing world,

We allow it to crumble through our ignorance,

Self-destructing world,

We shield our eyes from the hate and violence

This world’s out of control, I thought we’re better than that,

There is no point in war,

And that’s a veteran fact,

Everybody’s saying that it’s gonna get better,

Our hearts are getting colder better bring a sweater, Non of that’s gonna happen without any action,

God gave us this world without a single contraction,

Told as a child to leave our toys where we got ‘em,

We gotta escape before we hit rock bottom

A self-destructing world,

We allow it to crumble through our ignorance,

Self-destructing world,

We shield our eyes from the hate and violence

A self-destructing world,

We allow it to crumble through our ignorance,

Self-destructing world,

We shield our eyes from the hate and violence

Is Tusa A Bhris Mo Chroí

‘Gus is tusa a chaith mè síos

Níl aon àit níos fearr ná le do thaobh

Fiú ar feadh 15

Ag an tús bhí gach rud go breá

Caitheamar am le chéile chuile lá,

D’fhéach tú orm le háthas is le grâ

Anois níl tada ann le rá

Buachaillí

Anois tá sé casta

Níl fhios agam cad a tharla

Tá mo mothùchán gach áit

Agus anois níl aon rud fágtha anois

English version

Chorus

You’re the one who broke my heart

You’re the one who threw me away/down

There is no place like being by your side

Even just for 15.

At the start,everything was good

We spent time together everyday

You looked at me with happiness and love

Now,there is nothing to be said

Now everything’s a mess

I don’t know what happened

My feelings are scattered

And now there’s nothing left.

Not A Song Song

Written by Adam Harvey, Cillian Kavanagh, David Thomas, Peter Kelly, Peter O’Reilly, Sean Henry

Imagination, desperation

Looking for some inspiration

Trying to find my salvation

To help aid my creation

CHORUS:

Search my head

Lying on my bed

There’s no song

So sing along

Search my mind

But I can’t find

A chorus or a verse

An idea in reverse

This damn song

Its taking way too long

This is getting worse

My ideas really cursed

CHORUS

VERSE 3:

It came to me

Now I can see

What I need to be

My Ming is crystal clear

I’m starting to write

Its black and white

I’m winning the fight

I’ve nothing left to fear

CHORUS

The Wet Whale

Written by Tom,Tommy,Cullen,Cormac and Stewart

There once was a whale

he was fat and wide

He travelled the world

On a rave and a smile

But who would have known

What he would have seen

When he went to the bottom of the the deep blue sea

Oh he’s a wet whale

Oh he set sail

Drinking his rum to the beat of the drum

He didn’t know

How long he would be

Down at the bottom of the deep blue sea

All he had was a drumming beat

And he played away

From Mozambique to Crete

He followed the beat

After coming from Crete

Until he glided along

To Beijing and Hong Kong

And played ping pong

With his friend Mr.Wong

Oh he’s a wet whale

Oh he set sail

Drinking his rum to the beat of the drum

The Mystery Locker

Written by Josh McAnaspie, Ryan Messitt, Tom Jameston and Liam Mccarthy

nobody knows

Verse 1:

What is inside

lets go and find

whatever it hides

something’s inside

nobody knows

Verse 2:

What is inside

who does it hide

firemen or nurses

doctors I cried

but nobody knows

nobody knows

Chorus:

What’s in the room

nobody knows

is it a pig

is it a cow

nobody knows

nobody knows

nobody knows

Verse 3:

What is inside

one day we’ll find

the mystery will end

we’ll know what it hides

until then though

nobody knows

nobody knows

Verse 4:

What’s in the room

nobody knows

is it a pig
